Harsh and Sweet® strives to create beautiful jewelry that highlights the natural features of stones and metal. Based on the belief that there are no irregularities - only unique and unrepeatable patterns - each stone is turned into a jewel in the way that best highlights its colors and pattern. While most items are available in sterling silver more and more jewelry will be offered in argentium, a more pure form of silver that is less prone to tarnishing. All the jewelry by Harsh and Sweet is one of a kind, as unique and distinctive as the women who are wearing it.
A few things about the philosophy behind Harsh and Sweet... I respect the environment and create jewelry without using harmful chemicals. Only natural processes are used when I oxidize silver or get rid of firescale, for instance, and I'm happy to tell everyone how they can do the same in my blog.
I source stones and metals ethically and, whenever possible, use recycled silver. Upcycling is a priority of mine and I'm planning on doing more and more of it. A long time vegetarian, I do not use leather, but you can expect me to be using cotton and other vegetable fibers. Sustainability is one of my priorities and I always try to find ways of reducing my impact on the environment.
Creativity is also important to me and I don't like mass produced items. In my jewelry, I always try to be original and regularly create new models. A few simple designs might be produced in small runs, but even in this case small differences will set each piece apart.
